PROFILE

I have 20 years of experience within the jewellery trade. I initially started working in the jewellery retail sector, learning all aspects of the business from front of house retail sales through to management. I have a passion for diamond grading and moved from a retail career to working for a prestigious diamond company in Antwerp, developing and serving trade clients and manufacturers throughout the West Midlands, the north of England and as far up to the Orkney Isles in Scotland.

I am a Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain, gaining the qualification FGA upon completion of their world renowned gemmology course. I also hold the diamond diploma from the Gemmological Association of Great Britain.

All registered valuers are required to have Gemmological and Diamond Grading Qualifications, alongside knowledge and experience within the trade. In order to maintain Registered Valuer status we are routinely monitored and have a continuous professional development plan. This would include continuous learning through courses, workshops and conferences throughout the year. This is to ensure professional standards are maintained in adherence to the Institute's Principles of Good Practice for Valuers. It is for this reason that major Insurance companies are now insisting that valuations are undertaken by a Member or Fellow of the Institute of Registered Valuers. I am very proud to be a Fellow of the Institute of Registered Valuers (FIRV) and a member of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain.
